CSO International Network for the Alliance of Civilizations

I had the opportunity as president of Creators without Borders association to participate in the Doha Pre-forum 2011 of the Alliance of Civilizations who brought together 190 participants from 80 countries from Civil Society to organizations, foundations, corporations, NGOs and young leaders.

The Pre-Forum was in my opinion a real turning point because it gives us a good opportunity not just to be part of the Alliance of Civilizations Family but also, to work and to be an actor to promote mutual respect, stability, peace and inclusion. Now, we are aware that it is our duty to think about what we can offer as an organization to the Qatar Forum and how we can work with UNAoC.

I´m sure, the best way to work as a CSO with the UNAoC is to sign an agreement between some Civil Society Organizations and the UNAoC. These organizations can be a representative of UNAoC in their countries, and regions. As we know all organizations have contact with many NGO's and associations at a national, regional and international level and I think they can facilitate the contact between them and the UNAoC witch can help to create a big network for the Alliance of Civilizations.

At the same time, that agreement will give these organizations the possibility to contact their Government, to be part of a national Plan and Regional Strategy, and to be the direct contact between Civil Society and their Government, and also, between them and UNAoC.

Finally, my suggestion to make the coming Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in December 2011 in Doha a true turning point, is to sign an agreement between CSO’s from different countries and UNAoC, which can be the first step to create a “CSO International Network for the Alliance of Civilizations.”
